Professional Development for Educators

JAMM, in partnership with Sealaska Heritage Institute and the Juneau School District, is offering a four-day, free
professional development session for educators during the week of SHI's Our Cultural Landscape Conference

Classes will meet Monday-Thursday, August 4-7, 5-6pm at Kax̱dig̱oowu Héen Elementary School
Educators who are interested in integrating Lingít into their classrooms and learning about JAMMʼs process and pedagogy are invited to participate in an introduction to JAMMʼs KYNA curriculum, where teachers learn through hands-on violin and music ensemble instruction in Lingit, guided by indigenous speakers and string instrument teaching artists.
