JAMM Exploratories

Exploratories give students opportunities to experience music in multiple ways through these eight-week sessions, 90 min/wk:
  • Culturally Responsive: Bluegrass, Guitar, Rock Band, African Drumming, Lingít Dance & Drumming and Ukulele
  • Creative Technology: BandLab for Education & other programs prepare students for songwriting & recording
  • Movement: folk dance, modern dance and musical theater in partnership with local arts organizations
  • Peer-Mentorship: leadership and peer-mentoring opportunities at all levels of programming, including JAMM alumni from Floyd Dryden volunteering at Sitʼ Eeti Shaanáx̱ Glacier Valley and Thunder Mountain freshmen as paid teaching artists for Kax̱dig̱oowu Héen.

ROCK BAND:

JAMM would like to thank Musical Futures (MF) for offering such an incredible online resource for our after-school Rock Band exploratory. The MF Play Along Library and Learn to Play series has made it possible for our students to pick up an instrument and start playing together immediately.

You can learn more about Musical Futures, its approach to teaching through informal and nonformal learning, and the rich resource bank they have developed online.
