Secondary Education Master of Arts in Teaching (K-12 Music) Program

In partnership with the Juneau School District, Juneau Symphony and JAMM, the University of Alaska Southeast has increased and expanded its scholarship program to offer $10,000 music scholarships for teaching artists to pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching degree and/or a K-12 music certificate.  While attending UAS, these talented musicians will perform in the Juneau Symphony and teach in music classrooms within the Juneau School District, including JAMM sites.  Read the bios of these talented musicians and visit them on Facebook.  To learn more about the MAT program, please read this description and brochure.  You can find the application and scholarship materials here.

There are three portions to the application:
  1. The performance recording (information can be found under the MAT Scholarship Form tab),
  2. The scholarship essays (also found under the MAT Scholarship Form tab), and
  3. All of the application materials through UAS (which can be found under the MAT Application tab).
  4. Application deadline for all materials:  April 15, 2018
