Playing the one-octave, C Major Scale

Boss level: Playing the two-octave, C Major Scale!

Playing the one-octave, D Major scale

How To: Play the two-octave, D Major Scale with extensions

Boss Level: Playing the two-octave, D Major Scale!

It is important to know how to play a beautiful extension on the cello because the two-octave, D Major scale is not the only time you will need to use them!

When doing an extension...
1. Make sure your first fingers remains planted in first position.
2. Bring your second finger and your thumb forward (because second and thumb are travel buddies!), putting your second finger where third finger was, and putting your third finger where fourth finger was.
3. Put down that fourth finger, right past its normal tape! It is now a half-step higher than it once was!
