Swallowtail Jig Tutorial for Violin
Swallowtail Jig Skills:
  • The challenging skill in this piece is the 6/8 meter. There are 6 beats to the measure and an eighth note gets a beat but the feel is more like 2 groups of three eighth notes.
  • This means a down bow starts the first group of 3 beats and an up bow starts the 2 group of 3 beats. Donʼt get tricked!
